Volstead - Beer Tasting
After many years selling the best beer New Zealand’s craft breweries had to offer from our bar, Volstead Trading Co, we decided to turn our attention to making our own beer.
After quitting a career in professional services to take over running the bar full time, Jason Ray saw the opportunity to start up Volstead Brewing Co when the brewery right next door came up for sale. Jason’s dream was to produce amazing brews to compete with the best New Zealand had to offer, and more importantly, to satisfy the most discerning and passionate of our craft beer customers.
Today, as a small family business, we are proud to create a wide range of award winning craft beers, using mainly local suppliers and ingredients throughout our production process.
From our South Island supplied malts and hops, through to sending our spent grains to our local farmer mate, Paddy, Volstead Brewing Co aims to bring you sustainable, fresh, delicious New Zealand craft beer.
